For the third year in a row, moms took over the runway during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in a show designed to empower women. Called - Strut: The Fashionable Mom Show, it featured models who were all moms in many shapes and sizes.
Bloomingdale’s styled the show, highlighting fall fashion trends from designers such as Ramy Brook, Jay Godfrey, Torn by Ronny Kobo, Yosi Samra, Twenty, JustFab, Kay Unger and Zeus+Dione. The show was cocreated by Denise Albert and Melissa Musen Gerstein of The Moms, and executive produced by Stephanie Winston Wolkoff of SWW Creative — all of whom walked the runway. The runway show took place Sept. 7 at 8 p.m. at the The Stage at Lincoln Center.
This year’s theme was “Moms Strut for a Cause.” Amber Sabathia, entrepreneur, philanthropist, creator and designer of CCandy, as well as wife of the New York Yankees’ CC Sabathia, walked in the show, along with her children for the PitCCh In Foundation. Other moms who walked the catwalk include Alexis Stoudemire, wife of the New York Knicks’ Amar’e Stoudemire; actress Alysia Reiner; Laura Posada, wife of retired New York Yankee Jorge Posada; NBC’s Darlene Rodriguez; Victoria Recaño of “Inside Edition,” and Katina Taylor, wife of former NFL star Jason Taylor.
I was honored The Moms , Denise and Melissa asked me to walk the runway , the cause I walked for was The Robin Hood Foundation. It was such amazing fun. I can finally say I got one off my bucket list, and modeled at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. My Hubby and son came out to support me as did a few of my friends. I was so busy backstage getting hair, makeup and dressed, that I only got a few pictures with my trusty iPhone 4, hope you enjoy them. I added a lovely mention in today’s Daily News about the Strut Moms Fashion show by The Moms. Stay tune for more press on my Blog.
Sponsors were Cottonelle, Vaseline Spray & Go Moisturizer and Whirlpool.
