I simply love a good brunch on the weekend. I make an effort every weekend to frequent an establishment that has fabulous brunch cocktails and food .Last weekend , I asked my new friend Maria Fernandez to join me for brunch in the City. Maria and I never actually met before, but we followed each other diligently via each other’s blogs , The Foodie Brat and instagram feeds. Excited to finally meet, I chose Dudley’s, a small intimate spot in the LES with some really good Australian food and craftily concocted cocktails . I was drawn to the beautiful lighting and airy feel of the place. Perfect to take photographs and have a lazy brunch.
As soon as we sat down, Maria and I were yapping away and giggling endlessly . I knew we would become fast friends. First thing at hand … Cocktails . The bartender was eager and friendly with helping us decide on what cocktail to order. Once I told him I was in the mood for gin, he quickly whipped up a delicious cocktail called the ” Dudley’s Cup” made with Brooklyn Gin, Lime, Watermelon and Cracked Pepper. Maria had the El Diablo – Tequila, Lime, Ginger-beer, Cayenne and Creme de Cassis. The food was so yummy. My favorite dish was the simple yet delicious buttered avocado toast with toasted seven grain bread and cherry tomatoes. Dudley’s is perfect for small groups or an intimate date. The cocktails were superb and we will be back for sure for another boozy brunch.
