A couple of years ago, The Epicurean Man and I took Karate Boy on this wonderful Pumpkin Farm and Vineyard Adventure. Located on the east end of long Island in the scenic town of Aquebogue. Stakey’s Pumpkin Farm, is a spacious 26 acre field and the pumpkins are picked right off the vine. There are over 18 different varieties of pumpkins for us to pick from. The town is very picturesque, a perfect stay-cation and we decided once again to head back out to Stakey’s Pumpkin Farm this past weekend. One and half hour road trip, we were all excited about picking pumpkins, eating fresh corn on the cob , apple cider doughnuts and walking through their 3 acre corn maze. We did manage to get lost in the maze for about thirty minutes, it was super fun.
Like our last adventure in 2010, we kept the day going and drove a few minutes away from the Pumpkin Farm to the gorgeous Paumanok Vineyard. I did not need to fly to Italy or France to sip wine on a gorgeous Vineyard , all I needed to do was drive less than two hours to North Fork, Long Island to have a lovely vineyard experience . We met up with my dear friend Cindy and her family. Karate Boy was happy to have a play-mate , his friend Michael to frolic with on the vineyard. There was an earlier threat of rain, which never happened, instead we were greeted with a beautiful evening , with the most magical sunset on the vineyard. While the boys played, the grown-ups watched on, chatting away about our summer adventures, sipping on the award winning 2007 Merlot Tuthills Lane Vineyard. It was divine and a perfect choice for everyone. I am always seeking out amazing adventures right here in my back yard, this is always one of my top favorites. If any of you get a chance, you should try to head out to Stakey’s Farm & Paumanok Vineyard. I hope you enjoy my photo diar y.
