I am BACK !!!! The Adventurista went on an extended holiday for the summer. It had to be done, I was super busy trekking all over New York City with my son Jaden aka the Karate Boy and his 3 cousins. So many EPIC adventures, I promise to post one day soon about them. Meanwhile …
The crisp in the air, less humid days, can only mean one thing… Fall is here in New York City. I adore Fall and what I love even more , is heading out to a boozy brunch on the weekends , during this spectacular season. This past Saturday , a few fabulous ladies and I decided to spend the afternoon in the West Village. The agenda ,find an intimate spot with great food, amazing cocktails and just be idle drinking and soaking up the last few weeks of warm weather with friends.
Joseph Leonard turned out to be the perfect spot. Located on 170 Waverly Place, this restaurant is brilliant. Cozy with a well appointed decor, tucked away on this small intersection, we felt transported to somewhere far away. The energy was high and the wait-staff super friendly and knowledgeable. We actually felt quite spoilt by them, no complaining over here.
Now down to business , the brunch cocktail menu at Joseph Leonard, small but packed with some dynamite selections. We ordered their signature Bloody Mary No. 20 ( cilantro or dill infused vodka, tomato, olive and a beer chaser), The Tuk, Tuk (gin, lemon-grass, pink guava and fresh lime) and finally The Magdalena ( tequila, poblano peppers, st germain, citrus and salt). A couple of rounds later, we were all quite content and extremely happy people. We must give a mention to the food. A must was the fried chicken sandwich , I personally do not eat meat, but my friends all four of them ordered it and deemed it the best they ever had.
Joseph Leonard is a great choice for a lazy brunch date or meet up with a group of friends on the weekends. I am already planning on going back very soon. This is such a favorite past-time of mine, heading out to brunch with my Hubby, son or friends. Please let us know what you think once you visit Joseph Leonard and make sure to let them know, The Adventurista sent you their way.
