One of my favorite things to do in New York City is take Karate Boy and head out on a Staycation. Last week I invited a dear Mummy friend Tamara and her kids to join us on a short but fabulous trip to the Hamptons, Sag Harbor to be exact. A two hour drive that was scenic and relaxing, we arrived in Sag Harbor and a good friend of my husband John Pickens , escorted us to his family private beach in the Bay. John’s family has owned homes since the early 1930s and laid roots that would stretch four generations. You can read about his and his family’s story in a recent article on Huffington Post HERE

Endless hours frolicking in the Bay at Sag Harbor, the kids as well as us Mums had such a wonderful, fun time. Building up an appetite , we were off to the legendary B Smiths restaurant for the most delicious lobster rolls. Gracious and Lovely B Smith popped over herself to say hello to us, it made for a beautiful photograph. A bit more adventure left in us, we headed over to Judia Black a fabulous new Mummy friend who has a must read Blog called enJoie. She invited us to her beautiful home in the Hamptons for some afternoon fun. The kids swam in the pool, played a late evening game of baseball and badmington and the Mums shared loads of laughs over a divine glass of wine. We over nighted, staying up into the wee hours of the night chatting. The next morning a quick trip to Golden Pear in Bridgehampton and we were Brooklyn bound. Such wonderful times and loving these fantastic staycations…. I hope you all enjoy my photo diary of our stay below.

Tomorrow we are off to the gorgeous and relaxing islands of Turks and Caicos. The Epicurean Man, Karate Boy and I are excited for a much needed vacation. Stay tune for further adventures…
