August is upon us already. …YIKES !!! Summer is almost over and The Epicurean Man , Karate Boy and I have yet to go on a family holiday. If you had read my posts in early spring, you would have noticed how excited I was about planning a Parisian Holiday in May. Plans changed when I ran into some visa problems, as well as deciding to focus on preparing for my Granny’s 80th birthday bash, which I hosted at my home for 65 guests.

With all of May, June and July hosting and entertaining our family who came from out of town to stay with us, dreams of a holiday seemed far from reality. Now that everyone is gone, my mind clear, with a few days of research, I have BOOKED our holiday. The Caribbean of course, not too far away and where all three of us can relax and bond as a family. My biggest issue for choosing an island in the Carribean for our holiday in August, was the dreaded rainy season uggg. To learn more about the rainy season in the Caribbean click here. Last August we headed to Trinidad and Tobago, not caring very much about rainy season, since the main purpose of the holiday was to introduce The Epicurean Man and Karate Boy to my country, family and friends. You can view my photo diary of our fabulous adventures in Trinidad and Tobago here.

Once I researched about which islands have a lower risk of getting heavy rains and stormy weather, my final decision was, which island suited our family. My choice ~ Turks and Caicos. We are so excited, we leave mid August for a week and counting down the days. The Epicurean Man and I have also decided on the fabulous, luxurious, hip, sexy and fun Gansevoort Hotel in Turks and Caicos for us to stay. The Karate Boy is super excited, and even though I have promised the Hubby not to plan too many adventures, opting for more time for us to relax. I have already booked a sailboat excursion and a stingray adventure for all three of us. I am The Adventurista after all. Look forward to a few posts leading up to our holiday, like my mission to tone up quickly for beach-wear, my fashion choices for keeping it simple yet sexy and chic, and packing for the kid. In the meanwhile, below is a relaxing and beautifully shot video of where we will be staying at in the Turks and Caicos.

I’m not a fan of Caribbean travel in August but you can’t go wrong with an adventure in T&C. Have fun. Family vacation time is essential in creating balance in our lives. Be present & enjoy every minute.
