Spring has Sprung in New York City!!! This Sunday, The Epicurean Man, Karate Boy and I headed to the City to a fantastic outside exhibition called the Pantheon.
33 graffiti writers and street artists united to reclaim the former Donnell Library as a repository of visual information on the growing world-wide phenomenon of street art. This exhibition presents an art historical timeline that is a part of New York City’s unique legacy. The artistic contribution of these cultural catalysts and preservationists from the ’70s to the new millennium address the ever-changing urban landscape and alternative modes of producing art in the streets.
The weather was lovely to take the time walking along the exhibition, viewing the fabulous art pieces. Karate boy and his Dad, really enjoyed it and bonded over the colorful displays. It is a great exhibition for younger and older kids, the colors, textures gorgeous. After viewing the exhibition, we headed to the movies to see Rango with our favorite actor Johnny Depp. It was witty and funny. The dialogue maybe a bit mature for younger kids, Karate Boy was able to follow along and has yet to stop talking about Rango. On our way home, walking through our neighborhood, we came across beautiful yellow flowers, the cast of the darkening sky, against the yellow flower bush was so beautiful. Back home, I cooked for Sunday dinner, my famous curry chicken and for the Hubby and I cucumber martinis, made with leftover Voli light vodka. Yum. it was a perfect Sunday adventure with my family, again why I love New York City, one can find about anything to get caught up in with the family. Hope you enjoy my photo diary.
