I don’t remember exactly when I first heard  of Brazilian pop singer Bebel Gilberto, the daughter of legendary bossa nova singer and guitarist, João Gilberto -– known as the “Father of Bossa Nova” –- and Brazilian singer and composer Miúcha. Gilberto, all I remember was that I was smitten instantly. My favourite albulm of Ms Gilberto’s is titled Tanto Tempo,  and was released in 2000. I have seen Bebel perform live three times in New York City. Each time was breath-taking. Her voice flows like a soft breeze on a warm  day on a tropical island, and perfect for these blistering cold, winter days. Yesterday, on a relaxing Saturday, The Epicurean Man, Karate Boy and I were jamming to all three songs in today’s mix-tape while we were cooking lunch. I hope you enjoy them as well. xoxo

We all need those sounds for chilly New York days. I love listening to Bebel Gilberto, too.
