Happy New Years!!! I am following up my last post as promised with photographs of our adventures over the New Years weekend. New Year’s Eve, The Epicurean Man and I  attended an intimate black tie fiesta at this exquisite restaurant called Bobo in the West Village. The theme was Party Like it’s 1959 … “Celebrate New Years eve at Bobo – Live Cuban band, champagne mojitos, and a Cuban feast evoking Havana circa 1959. Black tie attire requested.” It was so romantic and we truly felt transported back to another era, circa Havana 1959. The food was yummy and my hubby and I polished off a lovely bottle  of red wine during dinner and the most delicious Old Cuban cocktails after while listening and dancing to a fabulous live Cuban band in the downstairs parlor. I was not able to get many photographs since I was off duty as my loving hubby told me from blogging, and here to celebrate with him the New Year. Around 11pm, I called my baby-sitter to see if Karate Boy was up and when she told me yes, we decided to forgo bringing in the New Year in the City and opted to head home and watch it on television with our little boy…Karate Boy was so happy to have us home with him….so were we. http://bobonyc.com/newyearseve

On New Year’s Day itself…Saturday, January 1st 2011, The Epicurean Man, Karate Boy and I,  headed to the Odeon in the City, for New Year’s day brunch. This time we invited my lovely friend Cindy, and her family. Cindy and I knew each-other growing up in Trinidad. It was a  wonderful time spent with good friends, the first time The Epicurean Man met Bob and they were fast friends immediately. Micheal and Karate Boy were busy-bodies during brunch playing with each other Dsi’s. We literally spent four hours at The Odean having brunch, we ate the yummiest lemon ricotta pancakes, home-made corned beef  hash with eggs, goat cheese and chicken paillard salads. I even was dared by my hubby and Bob to taste steak tartare ( raw beef) , I thought New Year, new epicurean adventures and did….I actually liked it. Ice cream sundaes and 3 rounds of martinis, French 75, bloody mary cocktails later… great conversations and we all agreed it was GOOD TIMES indeed.  http://theodeonrestaurant.com/
