Post image for S. African curry, wine, pear tarts, limoncello playdate. I am loving my Foreign posse

Yesterday was Election Day, a time to exercise your right to vote, it was also a day off from school for the kids. One of my fellow Daddy friends Chris, who originally hails from South Africa invited Karate Boy, my Dad ( who was visiting for a few days) and I over for a South African curry lunch/play-date. Chris also invited a few other mums and dads in the neighborhood, Lorna ( my dear mummy friend, from London), Megan ( from South Africa) and Lex ( from Scotland) as well as their kids.

We had such a wonderful time,  Chris was such a gracious host, he made the most delicious chicken curry, basmati rice and varied condiments to go along with the meal. Lunch was accompanied by red wine, my dad opted for some Jamaican rum, dessert  a  yummy pear tart made by Lorna was served with limoncello and coffee. The kids had cherry jello for their dessert. What good times indeed, we ate, talked about travels, our individual cultures, our kids, listened to Brazilian music, the kids played to their heart’s content…. a fabulous time. My dad made a comment “  You guys sure know how have a get-together” . I will admit it did feel very Woody Allen circa 1970 in Manhattan our lunch/play-date with the Foreign posse.  I hope you enjoy my photo diary.

It’s so great to see Waverly back to its fabulous use as the site for cozy get-togethers. All dinner parties hosted by Chris give a 70s Woody Allen vibe, excellent comment!

Hi Danae,

It was a lovely lunch/playdate, the only way we know how to do it lol!!! I was very excited to be invited out, since I tend to have loads of soiree’s at my home, Chris has been to a few. He was a fabulous host and it was good times all around. South African chicken curry was delicious…
