This past Labor Day weekend, The Epicurean Man, Karate Boy and I spent it with dear friends of ours, Peter Paul, Deneen and their beautiful daughter Kaya. We headed out to the Hampton’s with them and  had the best time enjoying the beautiful weather, frolicking on the beach, eating delicious food. While out East, we decided to take the kids on a light-house adventure,  http://www.montauklighthouse.com/ so off to Montauk we went. Located at the very end of Long Island, Montauk is more laid back and relaxed than the Hampton’s. A beach town , you find surfers, families, visitors with one thing on their minds, to spend good times at the beach. This is such a perfect get-away that is just a couple of hours away from New York City.

The Light-house the oldest in New York State was so worth the visit. Karate Kid and Kaya appreciated and marveled at all the artifacts and spectacular views at the light-house. We also went down to the beach by the light-house to watch the ships and throw rocks.

After the Light-house adventure it was off to a yummy lobster lunch on the beach in the village in Montauk. The grown-ups had rum punches, we all ate lobster rolls and spent a couple of hours sharing summer stories and catching up with each-other. Then more beach time , followed by , what else… delicious ice-cream. It was  a perfect ending to a lovely weekend spent with friends.
