Lego madness and a cocktail…

Karate Boy and I have been anticipating the arrival of the new LEGO Store that recently opened in Rockefeller Center. I have always pondered on whether this will ever materialize , such a store in the heart of NYC, devoted solely to these addictive ( to both kids and parents) tiny plastic building bricks. called LEGO. Upon entering the disney-like store, I asked Karate Boy ” what do you think?” He looked at me and screamed ” AWESOME “.

The store has so much to offer than just shopping, a total LEGO experience. LEGO brick displays of space-ships, pirate, ships, construction sites. There is an enormous Chinese New Year-styled dragon snaking across the ceiling of the store entirely made of LEGOs . A spectacular, LEGO replica of Rockefeller center, small port-holes showcase LEGO city scenes. The LEGO Store, will also be offering regularly scheduled events and programs for kids and you can throw a LEGO birthday party in the shop.

Karate Boy was on his mission to canvas as much of the store as he can, quickly. He was able to see some of the exciting displays on the LEGO Store computers, as well as build a mini city scene at one of it’s events table. He was on a budget so he had to decide on which lego toy he was going to purchase. A very tough decision, a very good choice I believe.

After a fun, fabulous 2 hours in the LEGO Store, we headed back to Brooklyn. Karate Boy took off to build , what else lego, and I was in the mood for a much needed cocktail. So I met my fellow Daddy friend Briam, who just returned with his Hubby Christophe and son Austen from Switzerland for a COCKTAIL.
