Saturday Karate Boy, Tamara (our alternate nanny) and I drove out to Atlantic City to meet up with The Epicurean Man ( who headed out the day before). It was the start of a fabulous, fun-filled, 4th of July weekend with family and friends at the Harrah’s Hotel. The Epicurean Man threw a series of events in AC ( Atlantic City) so we thought why not make a mini holiday for the family. Our dear friends Deneen and Peter Paul ( who also worked with hubby on the events) were our cohorts for the weekend. We also invited my brother Ben-Buck, my sister in law Melanie, Joe’s publicist Jennifer and her significant other Steve. Saturday, The Epicurean Man and I spent a wonderful time at the spectacular pool at the Harrah’s Hotel with the gang. We sipped leisurely on tropical cocktails, since the pool at this particular hotel transcends you to the tropics .
Later that day Karate Boy spent some quality time with his Dad, since The Epicurean Man was very busy making sure everything went as planned for these huge events he was executing in AC. Karate Boy said his good-bye’s then he was off with Tamara, Deneen and I to the KIDDIE pool for some fun. Later on that evening it was time for the grown-ups to have some adult fun in the casino’s ( no we don’t gamble) we headed to P Diddy’s amazing concert at the House Of Blues.
Sunday morning Karate Boy had a sumptuous breakfast in Tamara’s hotel room ( he loves room service, just like his mummy). After a carnival adventure on the Boardwalk. Karate Boy was very hopeful he would pass the height requirements for the rides he wanted to go on…he did !!!!! Also on his agenda was for him to get a “real tattoo” like his daddy’s ( a dragon). Karate Boy who is proving to excel in all sports he attempts, also won a few prizes at the basket-ball games. Tired and hungry after all the carnival activities, I took Karate Boy and Tamara to the Hard Rock Cafe for an early dinner. Then it was back to the hotel for the grown-ups to get dressed and head to P Diddy’s 4th of July After Dark Pool Party.
Monday morning, it was a short but sweet 2 days in AC. Breakfast with the gang and we were all back on the road, New York City bound. I was a bit nervous about how I was going to pack so much activities in these 2 short days. Going on adventures with Karate Boy as well as my packed social calender with The Epicurean Man and friends. Taking Tamara did help since at night I knew he was safe and sound while we were out . We were able to have it all this week-end, family and grown-up adventures in Atlantic City.
