Last week Monday I took my in law’s on a food adventure through this lovely neighborhood in Brooklyn called Carrol Gardens. We were on a quest to find fresh pork . Since moving to Spring-hill Florida such delicacies are hard to find. Our food adventure brought to us to http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/3/1458898/restaurant/New-York/Carroll-Gardens/G-Esposito-Sons-Jersey-Pork-Store-Brooklyn for fresh pork.
I was so excited to buy my very first sausage wheel. It was a chicken/apple sausage wheel to be exact. It has been sitting in my freezer for the entire week. Yesterday for Sunday supper I decided to be adventurous and prepare it. My wonderful mother in- law Donna, suggested I grill it and serve it with a pesto penne dish. No actual recipe in sight ( my daddy was famous for cooking on a whim) I went to the kitchen, glass of pinot noir in hand and started cooking.
The Epicurean Man and Karate Boy also joined me, to help lay the table and grate fresh Parmesan cheese. It was a delightful and fun Sunday evening with the family in the kitchen. I so treasure these moments.
